पिछले साल सामान्य से कम बारिश के कारण बड़ा तालाब छह फीट से ज्यादा खाली रह गया था। लगातार पानी के दोहन के कारण वर्ष 2009 यानी 10 साल पहले वाली स्थिति बन गई है। इसी तरह कोलार डैम में मौजूदा जलस्तर चार साल पहले वाली स्थिति के करीब पहुंच गया है।
दरअसल, नगर निगम शहर में रोजाना कोलार डैम, बड़े तालाब और नर्मदा से कुल 97 एमजीडी करीब पानी पेयजल के लिए ले रहा है। पिछले साल कम बारिश के बाद निगम प्रशासन ने पानी बचाने के लिए अल्टरनेट डे सप्लाई का प्लान बनाया था। लेकिन राजनीतिक दबावों के कारण इस पर अमल नहीं हो पाया। जल संसाधन विभाग और नगर निगम के जानकारों की मानें तो मौजूदा स्थिति को देखते हुए पहले ही अल्टरनेट डे पर अमल होना था।
2009 से नहीं लिया सबक
वर्ष 2009 में बड़ा तालाब 1655 फीट ही भर पाया था। पूरी गर्मी में पानी सप्लाई हो सके, इसके लिए तत्कालीन निगम कमिश्नर मनीष सिंह के कार्यकाल में अक्टूबर से ही अल्टरनेट डे सप्लाई शुरू कर दी गई थी। एक दिन छोड़कर सप्लाई होने पर तालाब का लेवल 1646 फीट तक पहुंच गया था। इसके बाद वर्ष 2013 के बाद जब अच्छी बारिश हुई तब ज्यादातर हिस्से में रोजाना सप्लाई शुरू हो पाई।
चूंकि पिछले साल तालाब में 1660.50 फीट ही पानी भर पाया था, लेकिन रोजाना सप्लाई किए जाने से तालाब का लेवल तेजी से घट रहा है। ऐसे में इस बार 1649 फीट से नीचे लेवल चला जाएगा। इससे 10 साल वाली स्थिति निर्मित हो जाएगी।
वर्ष 2018 में औसत बारिश के दौरान 1661 फीट ही तालाब भर पाया था, जिससे गर्मी में इसका लेवल 1650 फीट तक पहुंच गया था। हालांकि समय पर बारिश होने से स्थिति में सुधार हो पाया।
इस साल यदि मानसून कमजोर रहा और सामान्य से कम बारिश हुई तो स्थिति 1660 फीट तक पहुंचना भी मुश्किल हो जाएगा। फिर स्थिति खराब होना तय है।
तालाब का फुल टैंक लेवल 1666.80 फीट है। यदि लेवल को ज्यादा घटाया गया तो इसे भरने के लिए भारी बारिश की जरूरत होगी।
